SIMPLE REMINDER

This holy week, I thank God for the opportunity to read, listen, meditate and write about God's goodness and faithfulness.  I would like to share this piece of inspiration and reminder I was able to keep for almost 7 years now.  This poem was made when I spent an overnight at the Touch of Glory Prayer Mountain last 2004.  I believe that prayer is not just lifting up to God all what we need and what we desire.  It is first of all, an opportunity to LISTEN to what He wants us to do and should always be led by the Holy Spirit himself.  To those who read, I pray that this will also be an encouragement.

January 3, 2004, the Lord brought me to the prayer mountain,
He saw my weak and hopeless heart, He desires to strengthen.
Because I have heavy loads of burden and I’m fainting,
Aside from starting the year right, He wants to free me from pain.

As I used to do, I had my pack of clothes, pencil & paper.
Along with my Bible is the list of petitions and prayer.
But the Lord impressed Rom. 8:26 what a prayer should be,
He said, “Not your own way, let the Holy Spirit lead.”

I was so delighted and grateful for that holy word of reminder.
I was even more encouraged to receive more verses about prayer.
Colossians 4:2 says, “Have an attitude of thanksgiving,”
“Pray at all times” in Eph. 2:18 and in Thes. 5:17 “Pray without ceasing.”

By His Holy Spirit, He reminded and taught me to pray.
But Solomon showed me how to approach Him the right way.
Ecc. 5:1, “Draw near to listen rather than give an offering.”
Because to the Lord, that is more acceptable and honoring.
